From the look you know it’s a good wish
Oh Uganda
If I were your Marie Antoinette,
A social and financial reformer i would be.
That poor child, I’d take and oversee their quality education.
To the news that Ugandans are starving,
That children are malnourished, I would respond.
To your thirst for democracy, I’d comprehend
And be a friend to your democratic ideas.
I’d be devoted to you, and you wouldn’t take another “mistress”
My home people, I’d forget for your good
Because you’ve become my people.
Cakes, you’d feast on during these hard times.
Pads I’d offer instead of teargas canisters.
My make up, hairdos, lavish dinners I’d forego to see free medical services for you.
Indecisive I’d be where you are decisive.
My head I’d lose, for a better Uganda
