Africa’s great Afro beat music superstars, Burna Boy and Wizkid have claimed their throne at the international BET Awards ceremony.
The award which took place virtually due to the corona virus pandemic was hosted by Amanda Seales an American comedian.
The 20th BET Awards held online on Sunday saw the self styled African Giant and the Star-Boy boss emerge as the sole African villains.
Burna Boy who has seen his Africa giant album sell out with hits after hit managed to earn the BET throne as the Best International Act.
Wizkid’s feature with Beyonce’s on the Lion King album, the ‘Brown Skin Girl’ track won him the BET Her Award category, making him the African artiste with the most BET awards win.
Beyonce, Megan Thee Stallion, Chris Brown and Roddy Ricch had the biggest chunk of the fortune with the highest number of awrds two each.
Burna Boy and Wizkid have been highly welcomed in the outside world due to their great audience and their original sense of style welcomed by many.
Other acts like Rema the Beamer hit maker have been not left out of the nominations but not winners.
Diamond Platinum and Sauti Sol East Africa’s giants were however not named.
